Implementation of Resource Career Path and SFIA within CA Clarity
Requirement
Pemari received a brief to consult on the best way to apply our clients implementation of a Career Path Framework along with the Skills Framework for the Information Age (SFIA) into CA Clarity and develop the necessary CA Clarity content to support it.
This client was using a legacy system for project planning and roles to template tasks. Our requirement was to load this data, which had been extracted into a spreadsheet, into Clarity applying some business logic to the data transformation. The resultant projects in Clarity needed to have pre-built work breakdown structures including task dependencies and role assignments. The task structure would be determined by the type of project as identified in the data.
The client had a policy of closing time periods after a certain amount of time to allow financial periods to align and closed off. Once a time period is closed, timesheets can no longer be entered or adjusted. This caused a problem in terms of balancing budgetedresource costs against the P&L since if no time was booked no costs would be posted to ledgers.
The client had been using Clarity primarily for IT Project Governance. The application configuration had been originally modelled on a 7.0.2 platform and was considered by many of the users as being cumbersome. The client had already upgraded to 7.5.2 and asked Pemari consultants to completely redesign the entire system taking into account new requirements, user feedback and additional functionality in 7.5.2.
Workqueue design to provide effective working for Back Office
Requirement:
The client had a number of back-offices whose job was to validate requests for projects or budgetary changes to projects and complete the relevant approval details prior to approval. They wanted the capability to know which requests to work on in a priority and status order for their particular part of the organisation.
